Kokava Trail is a mountain ultramarathon race and long distance march for individuals, which will take place on 5.-6. September 2026. The race courses with total distance 78 km and 23 km is situated in the Veporské vrchy and Stolické vrchy mountains in Slovakia. The organizer of the race is o.z. SLOVAK ULTRA TRAIL.

Since 2015 O.z. SLOVAK ULTRA TRAIL is a member of ITRA (International Trailrunning Association).

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

  • Kokava Trail race (78 km) is a part of the Slovak Ultratrail League.

  • Kokava Trail race (78 km) is a part of the ITRA National League.

  • The Kokava Trail course (78 km) is certified by ITRA (3 points), results for ITRA will be sent as results in the mail Men and Women categories.

  • Participation with a dog is not allowed.

​Start fee:

​

The start fee for Kokava Trail 2026 :

  • Kokava Trail (78 km) course: 75 EUR for one participant from 25. March 2026 to 31. July 2026, 80 EUR for one participant from 1. August 2026 until end of the registration.can not be transferred to another Kokava Trail edition. The start fee can not be used for a different race.

  • Pasiečky Trail (23 km) course: 25 EUR for one participant from 25. March 2026 to 31. July 2026, 30 EUR for one participant from 1. August 2026 until end of the registration.can not be transferred to another Kokava Trail edition. The start fee can not be used for a different race.

Number of participants:

​

Max. 250 participants for the 78 km course race Kokava Trail,

Max. 200 participants for the 23 km course race Pasiečky Trail

​

Discounts based on ITRA performance index (category GENERAL):

 

Men with 750 and more points: discount 50%

Men with 800 and more points: discount 100%

​

Women with 600 and more points: discount 50%

Women with 650 and more points: discount 100%

​

This discounts are applicable only for the basic start fee 75 EUR (or 80 EUR after 1. August 2026) for the 78 km course race Kokava Trail and 25 EUR (or 30 EUR after 1. August 2026) for the 23 km course race Pasiečky Trail. The discount is not applicable for the accommodation and T-shirt fee. In case you are eligible for the discount based on the ITRA Performance Index (General), after the ITRA Performance Index check on the ITRA website the basic start fee will be updated in the registration system, after which the registered participant will receive a new e-mail with updated payment information.

How to find out the actual ITRA performance index: search with your name and surname on the  ITRA website, if your profile is found, click on it and search the New Performance Index in category GENERAL.​

​

Parking:

​

Parking for the race participants will be available from Friday 18.00 CET in the local football stadium area in Kokava nad Rimavicou, volunteer will be present here.

​

Limited number of parking places is at the parking lot next to the bus station. Please, ensure you don't block the road for the buses here.​

​​

A small parking lot is next to the railway (Mateja Hrebendu street) and also in the Štúrova street close to the U Táni pub.

​

Please note:

​

The race organizer reserves the right to change the course, time limits of the checkpoints and event schedule or to cancel the event (especially for participants safety reason). In such case the registered participants will be informed via e-mail.

​

There is no drop bag service in the Kokava Trail race.

​

The Stolické and Veporské vrchy are one of the areas in Slovakia with brown bear appearance, as well as other wild animals.

​

The course is going through several hamlets (e.g. before the Diel signpost, Šutova jama) where it is possible to meet local dogs (sometimes not tethered).​

INFORMATION FOR THE 78 KM COURSE RACE KOKAVA TRAIL

Race bibs distribution (check-in):


On Friday 4. September 2026 you participants collect the race bib in the House of culture in Kokava nad Rimavicou (Námestie 1. mája square 159/10) between 18.00 and 22.30 CET. On Saturday 5. September 2026 morning the race bibs distribution (check-in) will take place in the same building between 05.30 and 06.30 CET. The condition of participation is to bring an filled-in and signed Informed consent (Participiant’s declaration) document valid for Kokava Trail 2026 (document link will be added) to the race bibs distribution (check-in) place in Kokava nad Rimavicou.

Start:


Kokava nad Rimavicou - Námestie 1. mája square (in front of the House of culture) on Saturday 5. September 2026 at 07.00 CET (all Kokava Trail race participants start together). 

 

Aid stations:

​

There will be aid stations with refreshments placed on the course. In the same places there will be also the checkpoints with electronic timekeeping. Here is the list of Kokava Trail race aid stations/checkpoints including the link for online map, distance from start and time limit information.

​

 

Live checkpoints will be marked with labels including checkpoint number, name of the place, distance and time limit including distance and elevation to the next checkpoint with its time limit.

​

There will be no unstaffed checkpoints (like passwords, punches or similar). There will be at least one unannounced live checkpoint. One missing checkpoint results in disqualification of the participant.


Time limit:


The total time limit for completing the Kokava Trail race course is 7 hours (until 16:006:30 CET on Saturday 5. September 2026).

INFORMATION FOR THE 23 KM COURSE RACE PASIEČKY TRAIL

Race bibs distribution (check-in):


On Friday 4. September 2026 you participants collect the race bib in the House of culture in Kokava nad Rimavicou (Námestie 1. mája square 159/10) between 18.00 and 22.30 CET. On Saturday 5. September 2026 morning the race bibs distribution (check-in) will take place in the same building between 07.15 and 08.30 CET. The condition of participation is to bring an filled-in and signed Informed consent (Participiant’s declaration) document valid for Kokava Trail 2026 (document link will be added) to the race bibs distribution (check-in) place in Kokava nad Rimavicou.

Start:


Kokava nad Rimavicou - Námestie 1. mája square (in front of the House of culture) on Saturday 5. September 2026 at 09.00 CET (all Kokava Trail race participants start together).
